Intensive Outpatient Program

Our Intensive Outpatient Program assists individuals with recognizing the negative consequences related to substance use disorders. The Bridges of San Diego IOP provides support and healthy solutions with an appropriate action plan for every individual, not a one size fits all approach. Every individual is unique, and the level of care is determined at a personal assessment appointment with our Clinical Director. Our group education and counseling sessions address the following topics:

  • Education on the disease of addiction with evidence based scientific facts

  • The meaning of Dual Diagnosis and underlying causes behind addiction

  • Mental health issues contributing to addiction

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Relapse prevention

  • Emotional Support

  • Spiritual Development

  • Social Interaction

  • Physical health and wellbeing

  • Self-esteem building

  • Creating healthy habits and lifestyle

  • 12 Step based program

  • Recovery Skills

Our Outpatient Treatment Center offers both day and evening classes. Our day program is Monday-Friday 10:00-1:00 PM and our evening program is 6:00-9:00 PM. Attendance may be split between days and evenings to accommodate client’s scheduling needs.  Our aim is to provide flexibility for working individuals by choosing a time that works best for their schedule. Based on one’s assessment clients may be enrolled for 3 or 5 days or nights per week. The minimum IOP enrollment is 6 to 8 weeks. Individual counseling sessions are included in each program.

Statistical Benefits of Outpatient Treatment Programs

Statistics show that more than 50% of individuals discharged from Residential Treatment programs still relapse. Returning to work, family, friends, and old routines can make it difficult to stay sober. That is why Outpatient Treatment is so important for life changing results and sobriety. There are different levels of Outpatient Treatment. PHP (Partial Hospitalization), Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OP). As stated above, they are all day or evening programs, and every assessment will determine the level of care needed.
