Many people that are suffering from Substance Abuse Disorder are unaware they are self medicating to better manage an undiagnosed mental health issue such as Schizoaffective, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder and Trauma to list a few. Others may have become addicted from an injury while taking medication for pain control. Either way, we are here for you! There is no shame but opportunity to heal, recover and get your life back!
The Bridges Family Support Program is geared to help family members that are experiencing anger, guilt, shame, and co-dependency. During this program, we help people develop a tough love approach when it comes to dealing with family members that are currently struggling with substance abuse. Family services include individual and group counseling for a minimum of eight weeks, two days per week.
Our Chronic Relapse Program clients are counseled in separate groups from those who are in treatment for the first time. This program consists of individual and group sessions for twelve weeks, three times per week. It also includes continuing care maintenance for six months to one year, after the initial program has been completed.
We provide people convicted of drug offenses the best opportunity to seek rehabilitation instead of incarceration. Qualifications for these programs include a non-violent drug offense, completion of an evaluation, no criminal record, and demonstration of a motivation to change.

What Our Clients Say
“I came to The Bridges of San Diego broken, embarrassed, ashamed, and so overwhelmed with the thought of getting clean and healthy. Dr. Profit, Jenni, Kai, Dave and Sara made me feel so welcomed and normal. Each one of them played a huge role in my rehab and helping me understand that I’m not alone and never will be. They truly care about their clients, not only while a patient but after as well. In fact, I still go back a couple times a month for the group therapy block.”
“Coming into this program was one of the best things I could have done for myself. Being new to recovery, I was very hesitant and resistant to becoming a new person, sober and recovered. The counselors at The Bridges of San Diego were nothing but welcoming and encouraging through the whole process. It is hard to take that initial step into recovery and put yourself out there to get help, but being part of this program was the best thing that has ever happened to me. Coming up on a year of recovery and I am nothing but grateful. I highly recommend this program to others needing help but unsure of where to find it or scared to step out. I looked forward to coming and seeing my “second family” through the whole process and continue to come back because they have meant so much to me and my journey through recovery.”
“I found Bridges at a time in my life when I had given up hope for recovery. I was addicted to various pain killers for over 10 years. I was surprised to find that the staff was kind and welcoming and gave me a sense they truly wanted to help. I felt there was a genuine concern for my overall emotional and physical well being. They even taught me tools to use to use upon discharge to maintain my sobriety. I would recommend them to anyone who is serious about overcoming addiction in a nurturing environment.”
“A friend of mine clearly needed some help. She finally reached out and asked me if I would help her find a treatment program for drug and alcohol addictions. When we realized that sending her to rehab would cost gobs of money, we looked at outpatient programs. Thank God for The Bridges – they literally turned my friends life completely around because of their programs! Can’t say that enough. How much a 20min phone call changed everything for her. The Bridges was absolutely awesome!”
“Finding Bridges was life-changing experience I have tried other treatment programs that were very generic pretty much just a script I found that the counselors at Bridges truly cared about me and help me identify things about myself that I never knew. I was able to receive very personalized care which led to my success in overcoming my problem with alcohol.”
“First off, I was court ordered because of a DUI. I didn’t think I needed this.. however I quickly realized otherwise. I have a new awareness of my life & learned so many valuable lessons. I never would’ve imagined that an outpatient program would forever change my life.”
“The Bridges truly gave me the tools to help me recover from my dependence on alcohol and cocaine. I was a broken shell of a person and knew no way of living other than using drugs and alcohol. After detox & 3 months of inpatient, I spent 4 months in their Alumni house, along with 4 months of IOP. The Bridges is special, in my opinion, due to the fact that they also include a seperate group time for only women. They also came along side of me to attend a few 12 step meetings, which gave me the opportunity to build a new group of stable friends in recovery who were able to help support me on my journey. More than anything, I was willing to change and try something different. The Bridges has every means of being able to help someone get sober. In my opinion, anyone who says The Bridges is anything other than extraordinary, was not willing to pick up and use the tools that were laid at our feet. Thank you for helping me learn to live a full and beautiful life!”
“Thank you Bridges, Dr. Profit, & Mrs. Jenni, without your constant reassurance & guidance, I don’t know where I would be today. You truly have a gift to help and encourage others. Thank you for your honesty, and sharing what you have been thru. It gave me hope to know that I wasn’t alone, & that I too could push thru the craziness… one day at a time. Hugs to you all!”
“The Bridges of San Diego gave me the tools I needed to learn to live, and connected me with an amazing community of individuals that I’m proud to call my family. Today I have been sober 1 year and living up to my full potential! Thanks guys!”
“I can’t say enough about this place. They not only saved my life but gave me my life, my son and motivation back. There’s so much more to recovery than just stopping whatever you’re doing. They dig deep and helped me recognize why I do what I do and how to avoid it in the future. That’s the key right there…future. They give you a future. There is a light at the end and there are people that want to help there. You don’t have to do it alone. Call them and get your life back.”
“We, my wife and I, want to communicate our appreciation for the excellent resources and support we received from your program while struggling to help our son. Having contacted you in a state of crisis, we were surprised and so grateful that you were able to make the resource available to us in such a rapid manner, and that you remained accessible to us throughout the process while we were dealing with acute family distress. Through our conversations, and reinforced by the discussions, my wife and I came to see clearly, how drawing a line in the sand was the best prognosis for our boy, as well as for our own emotional health. With your guidance and enormous courage, we took drastic measures that have certainly benefitted us and, to date, appear to have changed things for the better for our son. It was also very beneficial to have you guide and direct us not to lose track of our lives as individuals, and as a couple, despite the unpleasantness that we were having in this one significant area. Words cannot express our deepest appreciation for your professional help and guidance through this challenging process. Your program has absolutely changed my son’s life. We would not hesitate to recommend your service to anyone who seeks help addressing addictions and substance abuse related issues.”

“I thank God for people like you. Your labor of love and kindness in helping others, that most of us consider to be a lost cause, has helped me to rethink how I see others who struggle with addictions and other defeating behaviors. You have proven that one can regain a life of virtue and real meaning. Words cannot utter how appreciative my family and I are for what you have done for us. Upon initially meeting you, our minds were scattered, wondering which road to take. Today is ravishing. We have a sense of purpose and direction. Our future looks so much brighter.”
“I just want to thank you again for helping me. I have not found it necessary to take a drink or do drugs since participating in your program. I have never felt better. My head is clear, and my heart is serene. My wife and I have nine years of marriage. We have three children together, two sons 7 and 5, and a daughter ten weeks old. My oldest daughter from a previous relationship is 25 years old. She is in her 3rd year of graduate school at Fordham in New York, working towards her doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology. My family and I are very grateful for your help and all you did for us. I will never forget you.”
